Mary Ford Families!
We are off to an exciting 2014-2015 school year! Mary Ford Elementary will continue on its quest of excellence to elevate the achievement for all students, increase the graduation rate and close the achievement gap. We will do so by providing a curriculum rich in rigor and relevance, choices in various programs and activities for our students, while all the same providing a school climate of positive relationships. I know Mary Ford will continue to achieve academic excellence with the commitment from parents, a dedicated staff, support from business partners, an active School Improvement Council, Parent Teacher Association, and community volunteers.
School Climate is essential to learning. To this end, Mary Ford will enter this year as a Positive Behavior Intervention Support School. This initiative, coupled with Response To Intervention, allows positive and effective educational and behavioral support for all students. The PBIS School Team will meet monthly and serves as a catalyst to ensure consistency with school wide expectations. This year we need your support more than ever as a volunteer in the classrooms, scheduled school wide activities and field trips. Be sure that a new volunteer application is completed and approved for this school year.
It will be a pleasure and an honor to meet each of you. Please feel free to call, email or visit with your ideas, suggestions or concerns. Your input is important to me and is an integral part in all that we do.
