My name is Ms. Kennerly and have been living in Charleston for 9 years. Growing up, I lived in Lexington, South Carolina which is around half an hour from Columbia, SC (Go Gamecocks!). I now consider Charleston my home and love it here! My whole family lives in SC which is great except for my aunt who lives in Portland, Oregon. It is super fun to visit her though! In Charleston, I live in an apartment with my cat, Leo.
I attended College of Charleston for my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. After college, I worked as a reading interventionist at Hunley Park and Goodwin Elementary. I then began teaching Child Development at North Charleston Elementary. During my time as a reading interventionist and CD teacher, I completed my master’s degree in Literacy Education from The Citadel. I am very excited to be at Mary Ford Elementary as a First Grade teacher this year!
Your child’s education is my top priority. As an educator, it is my responsibility to develop a curriculum that challenges my students and meets South Carolina state standards.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to talk with me. I look forward to a wonderful year!!
