Conscious Discipline

There are no resources or collections to display

Conscious Discipline® is an adult-first technique that “addresses adult self-regulation and skill sets first to empower adults to model, teach, and live the skills and ideals they want children to acquire.” It is meant to demonstrate—for children—healthy ways to manage their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to deal with conflict and difficult situations.

As we move into our fourth year of implementation here at Mary Ford Early Learning and Family Center, we continue to focus on the Seven Powers and Skills of Conscious Discipline. Incorporated into each classroom you will find Morning Greeting Rituals, Brain Smart Start activities, Wishing Wells, and Meaningful Jobs, as well as the language of Conscious Discipline encouraging the use of an assertive voice, connection, and more.
